WOW!!...This really takes me back to some really memorable times in my life...
I can remember how singing changed my whole life when I was invited over to
Mrs. Harper's house to play some music
with her son George on drums and Keith brought his horn..
we were the nucleus of what became "The Capris"...
All of this music from the late 50's to early 60's
was dedicated to the memory of Ralph Beeson
who is featured on saxophone in these recordings...
Joe Wilson is also on this session playing guitar... RIP...
along with Ronnie Cox on organ..trumpet and vocals...George Briley and Eugene Swinnen on drums...
Clayton Normand on guitar...Ronnie Sellers and Dick White on sax...
Butch Davis on bass and vocals harmonizing with Keith Bradford on trumpet...
I hope you enjoy all of these songs which include
"Passing On By"...my very first record on the N-Joy label.
.along with "Here I Stand" which was played on "American Bandstand"
and was rated 93 over "The Rolling Stones" 86 by the rate-a-record kids hosted by Dick Clark..
.I still remember that day...Ronnie and I were blowing up an old B-29 innertube to go swimming at Buhlow Lake
when the show came on...
We were told to watch that morning for a surprise..
.so when Dick Clark announced the new release by Duane Yates and The Capris...
well..it was just real cool...and then we went swimming ho-hum...
Ah youth...
